FORMER AFL footballer Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson has been banned from driving for a month and fined $500 after pleading guilty to driving on the Gold Coast without a licence.
The 1980s sporting celeb and former advertising face of Energizer batteries apologised outside the Southport Magistrates Court today for setting a bad example to young drivers by driving while his licence was suspended.
The court was told Jackson was picked up by police at Broadbeach Waters on February 27 who discovered his NSW licence had been suspended due to a two-year-old unpaid fine.
Magistrate Terry Duroux convicted, fined and suspended Jackson’s licence for another month.
