A WOMAN who was over three times the legal alcohol limit was one of 64 drink drivers caught during a weekend traffic blitz on the Gold Coast.
The operation which ran overnight Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning focused on drink and drug driving offences in the Broadbeach entertainment precinct.
The worst offender was a 31-year-old Burleigh Heads woman, who allegedly blew a reading of 0.169 per cent after she was pulled over on Hooker Boulevard about 12.55am on Saturday.
Broadbeach Police Acting Inspector Bruce Pearce said police would continue to crack down on driving offences in the area.
“We want people to know that police are out there enforcing the laws in relation to drink and drug driving,” Insp Pearce said.
“Driving under the influence of any illicit substance can have lethal consequences for all involved.”
The operation involved officers from the Gold Coast Traffic Branch, State Traffic Task Force and Random Drug Testing Unit.
